| Friends of Rhydymwyn Valley Events 2008 |






| On Saturday 13th September 2008 the Rhydymwyn Valley Site celebrated five years as a nature reserve. Events throughout the day were organised by North East Wildlife and in the evening the Friends of Rhydymwyn Valley celebrated with a very successful barbecue with music from Espionage During the day the Art in Nature mosaic was unveiled to the public , there were birds of prey, displays from conservation organisations and a wildlife walk through the valley site. Footage from the old munitions film was displayed in the afternoon, and visitors to the site were able to make bug boxes, bird boxes and plasticine creatures to take home, bug motels were made for installation on the site and butterfly pictures were painted to add to the already beautiful displays in the Conservation Building Extra Pictures donated by Bill Jones |















| On a beautiful autumn day- October 12th 6 members of the FORV were treated to a marvellous day on Hilbre Island with the Friends of Hilbre. We were well looked after by Allen Burton, saw seals, a perigrene and seabirds, and had a very informative tour round the island. Thankyou to the Friends of Hilbre and especially to Allen for giving us such a wonderful day |








| FORV arranged a Bushcraft Day at the Rhydymwyn Nature Reserve on Sunday 19th October. Saul Burton, Ranger from Wirral Country Park, ran the very successful event |




| Songs round the Christmas Tree held in the Interpretation Centre at the Valley Site on Monday 22nd December with music by Jamie Davies and the Gresford Handbell Ringers,Christmas Crafts by Andrea Davies and a visit from Santa and his helpers |
