The Rhydymwyn and Hendre Community Group was formed as a result of a public meeting held on 03/10/07                  
to which all residents of Rhydymwyn and Hendre were invited.
A ruling committee was formed which met on 10/10/07 and it was agreed to raise funds both to support on-going               
activities, in English and Welsh, and where appropriate plan and execute new initiatives in line with their aims.

Currently the executive committee are

Chairman-Mr Gareth Hughes,
Vice Chairman-Mrs Janet Burgess
Secretary- Mr Doug Watts,
Treasurer- Mrs Cath Bartlett

The aim of the group is

To provide  support  for activities that help to integrate the communities and that promote a sense of community
giving opportunities to all and encouraging a sense of place and well being

To encourage interaction between young and old and thus create better understanding,
better support and improved relationships

To make use of existing facilities and thus secure their future in our communities

A very successful Village Day was held on
the football field in Rhydymwyn on July 10th
2010. The fete was opened by David
Hanson,our local MP who was led in by the
Cambria Band. Mr Hanson judged the
childrens fancy dress competition and then
there was music from the Northop Silver
Band and displays by  Pat and Colin
Werners Dog Training School and Tai Chi
from Martin Williams.
Mr Hanson presented a cup to Keith Baron
from Rhydymwyn Football Club for
Rhydymwyn  becoming top of the Welsh
Alliance League.
Mr Baron has been associated with the
football club for more than 51 years and the
football club will celebrate 100 years of
football at Rhydymwyn next year.
There were stalls in the marquee from the
Church, Kids Club, Fireworks Committee,
The Air Ambulance, Phoenix  Cards,
Wood Turning, Plants and FORV.
There were refreshments outside from
Spavens Sweets,
a butty wagon and Lewis Icecream
with cream teas in the hall alongside
an X box competition and craft modelling
for the children with Andrea Davies.
There were displays in the field from the
Mini Addicts and North Wales Wildlife
alongside darts, wellie wanging and
football competitions. The photoographic
competition was to be of a Welsh
Landscape in the style of Richard
Williams- a local artist who was a founding
member of the Royal Academy and who
died in Colomendy at Loggerheads and is
buried in St Marys Church-There is a
picture dedicated to Richard Williams in
the Church at Mold.
The competition was judged by Mr Bll
Jones and won by Mrs Pat Cassells for her
picture of the dovecote at Penmon Point.
To finish off the day a barbecue
and 60/70s disco with Karaoke
was held in the Football Club
The Rhydymwyn and Hendre
Community Group AGM will be
held on Thursday 27th October
8pm at the Institute

our communities together, to
foster the spirit of
co-operation and support
between our inhabitants and to
create a community spirit of
tolerance and understanding.

The Summer Fete for 2012 has
already been booked for 7th July
