40 people attended the event
at which there was a talk about the
Wildlife Trust Reserve- Coed Y Felin-
given by Adrian Lloyd Jones and
Graham Berry, and a brief talk
on bats by Rhian Hughes.

Events held at the Royal Oak

A very successful Tapas Evening was held on Tuesday 7th April 2008
with the chef from the Bryn Awel in Mold providing the food.
There was an excellent selection of very tasty Tapas which was enjoyed by all

Residents past and present of the villages of Rhydymwyn and Hendre attended the finale of a two-year project with a
very successful launch of the book "Rhydymwyn and Hendre-A Tale of Two Villages" .in 2009
A working party under the umbrella of Friends of Rhydymwyn Valley with funding from Cadwyn Clwyd produced the
book which looks at the history of the two neighbouring communities.
The book is in both English and Welsh and covers both the modern and ancient history of the villages.
The official launch events, took place to packed houses at the Royal Oak Inn, Hendre on Friday 14 August 2009 and at
the Antelope Hotel, Rhydymwyn on Monday 17 August 2009. Both hostelries are featured in the book.
The Oak sold 70 copies of the book on the first night and so far books have gone as far afield as France and Australia
