Rhydymwyn and Hendre Village Day 2009

As the pictures show a very enjoyable village fete was held over the weekend of July 11th and 12th,2009. The event was opened by Sandy Mewes our Welsh Assembly member who was led in by The Cambria Band.
The weather was good, there was a marquee containing lots of stalls, display of fly fishing, display of vehicles by The Mini Addicts, icecream and hotdogs vans and demonstrations on the main field by Northop Silver Band, Pat and Colin Werners Dog Training Team and Tai Chi by Martin Williams. Cream teas were served in the football club. The afternoon was rounded off with a barbecue and folk evening. The final event of the weekend was a very interesting Mendelssohn concert which was held in the church on Sunday evening attended by 90 people. Dr Goronwy Wynne narrated the story of Mendelssohn, Cantorion Glan Alyn sang Mendelssohn songs and some of their younger talented members played his music on the harp and the piano
